jan 15, 2011 - After launching it's debut red-carpet event in May 2008 at the Sex and the City Premiere at Hollywood Northstar 14 followed by an after party at the former Gateway Creamery, the Board of Girls Night Out, Inc. was thrilled with the sold out event! GNO's second event, Comedy, Cocktails & Charity, hosted by Downstream Casino, featured entertainment by local comedian, Marian Kelly, and was a blast for all girls involved. From those events funds were raised to provide scholarships to Suzanne Corman (graduation 2011) and Jennifer Howell (graduation 2009) towards their education at Missouri Southern State University and a Native American Scholarship to Billie Burtrum towards her education at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. The mission of Girls Night Out, Inc. is "Women empowering women through education and opportunity." Our cause is to provide non-traditional female students a scholarship to begin or advance their professional education. GNO's scholarship recipients can continue their GNO scholarship every semester without reapplying as long as they meet the scholarship requirements. Please visit http://thegirlsnightout.org for the qualifications of a scholarship from Girl's Night Out, Inc. The next Girls Night Out, Inc. event will be in May of 2011. Susan Laudwig, formerly of Joplin, MO, and former President of Girls Night Out, Inc. has resigned and Della Croft, of Carthage, MO has been appointed by the Board as her replacement. Della Croft says, "I am honored and thrilled to be appointed as President. The cause of Girls Night Out, Inc. is close to my heart, as every woman should feel supported and have the confidence in herself to begin or advance her professional education at any age." The non-profit organization is currently seeking additional committee members. Visit http://thegirlsnightout.org for more information. |
